Review on 🎧 Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones by Ada Lewandowska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

Took 2 days to arrive. Even though the volume is low, distortions become apparent during the first few minutes of listening (pay attention!). Don't act too shocked. At this point, it seems that they have "warmed up," because the distortions have stopped. Initially, I felt bad about wearing it, but now I don't care. These fit snugly on the head and don't bother you even after two hours. Even when it's not particularly warm outside, your ears won't sweat inside these headphones. It's really comfortable for me because my small ears are totally encased in the ear pads, but I can see how that wouldn't work for anybody with larger or differently shaped ears. The round design, firm ear cushions, and intense pressure were all the same as my previous pair of closed-back AKG headphones; this made it uncomfortable to wear them for any length of time. There isn't much I can add to the literature on sound, as everything has already been said. To sum up, I'll say that we can achieve a natural, unaltered sound by lowering the bass (to 100 Hz) and the treble (to 6 kHz) by only a small amount. These sound great when connected to any of my devices (external sound, built-in, a couple of players). My only gripe is that there isn't an L-shaped connector like on Sony headphones.

Pros
  • Sound is reproduced well from a wide variety of sources; frequency response is relatively flat; bass is deep and quick; noise isolation is strong.
Cons
  • there isn't an L-shaped plug
