Review on FERRISA 4x2 HDMI Matrix Switch: Ultra HD 4K x 2K Video Switcher with Audio Output, 3D 1080P, IR Remote Control, Power Adapter by Terrance Castle

Reliable, excellent performance, very good value for money, I really like this switch

I am very familiar with HDMI matrix switches, having used them for many, many years as a very active User owns this particular type of equipment (single family home, not professional installation). When my original (different brand) died of old age, I bought a discount box to replace it. We soon discovered that this stripped-down box had several issues, including an inability to get sound from at least two separate sources, poor IR rejection from other remotes, and interfering codes that disabled the box. I was looking for a new box and found THIS current Ferrisa rear derailleur. I am very pleased with the performance of this switch! It not only solves the problems of the cheap switch I bought but also outperforms my old switch. The box is almost perfect so far; I can't find anything wrong with it and there's a lot of good in it. The set top box switches between sources quickly, switches reliably, discards other signals (which means I can use it with my IR extender with ease!) and passes all signals accurately. Connected to two (2) TVs of completely different specifications (traditional LG HDTV and HDTV Sharp Roku) as well as four (4) different HDMI sources (TiVo, DVD player, Revain FireStick and Google Chromecast). Audio is routed via the TV's main channel to a Bose box in one of the rooms and built into the other, but I could route audio from the switcher if I wanted - a nice fallback feature. With the IR repeater I have, I can switch from both the living room and the kitchen, while the box perfectly picks up the IR repeater signal and responds immediately. The lights on the box itself are bright enough to be seen but not bright enough to interfere with darkroom viewing like some other boxes do. The onboard source toggle buttons are great for remote control if I ever need to use them. Overall I have to say that I am very happy with this switch! It was worth every penny and I've learned my lesson by buying cheaper switches. The price of this switch is very fair for what you get and I would recommend it to anyone.
