This goes well with my 17 inch laptop. I want the second zippered part to be detachable so I can use it as one large bag, that's what I mean by what I recommend as a design adjustment. It's very useful not only for travel so I don't have to carry a backpack anymore, but also for meetings when I have to carry a lot of documents etc. and a wallet or backpack hurts my shoulder or back. I like that the bottom is removable in case I get stuck on a small plane. But if you're on the two-seater side and nobody minds, you can fit it completely under the seat widthwise, but maybe 2-3 inches under other people's seats, or if you're short like me, it will fit under your seat but may protrude 1-2 inches laterally into your legroom. You can unzip the "legs" and they fit in the top compartment with a small pocket or CPAP pocket on the side/top if you want more legroom. Or, if you don't have back problems, you can just check it from the side or not use this part at all. It barely fits on the island of the smallest planes, so I recommend taking it with you on those occasions, but other than that it should spin just fine. With no computer I could use it as a weekend bag instead of my large carry-on just to take a smaller bag with me. I also like the rollable laptop sleeve which makes me feel a little more protected when travelling. Overall I like the purchase, I downgraded my rating because the second large pocket is divided and they don't slide out so packing becomes a bit of a hassle unless you use it for files which was never my intention when I bought it. . Maybe I misunderstood the description or this part wasn't clear as I tend to be very attentive to the details listed. If you are using this for business or professional it is fantastic if you are planning to fill it with 2 computers which is also doable if you need to pack a computer and clothes for 2-3 days if you pack carefully. My shoulders thank me, I hope you like it as much as I do. The only tricky part is packing food in flight. I usually want to grab some food to go, but I have to be creative with this so I don't end up with mashed bread etc. I recommend this to anyone who compliments me or carries a backpack to date! I was lucky enough to find my Revain in stock which I didn't know about until this purchase saved me tons of money like hundreds of dollars. I was desperate for a backpack alternative that was big enough to meet my needs and sturdy enough, and nothing in department stores or Samsonite stores met my criteria without grossly exceeding my budget. Enjoy shopping!
