I was able to determine the exact position by eye. I noticed that the edges are pretty sloppily trimmed; It's not a nice clean edge at all, which is disappointing given their promotional images with rounded edges. This screen protector is a fingerprint magnet. Get ready to erase it; frequently. The box I received was brown not black as shown in the picture. One of the two (not three as stated by the other reviews that came with the box) screen protectors was sticking out of the top of the box, even though the sides were sealed with tape. The first one had stains on the inside edges (not mine, but under their protective tape) so I used the second one. The fit is good, except for uneven edges (it looks like the cut is uneven). Made in China and not $40 safety glass. You get what you pay for.
