If I had to choose between this braided wig cap and the crochet net, I would choose net. This cap is heavy, bulky and hot, especially with hair. The braids are firmly sewn to the hat and allow crocheting. They need to go through the braids, not under them. And although I have an environment, it seems small and uncertain. The hat has 2 combs (front and back) and you will definitely need them to hold it. Otherwise, it's essentially a hat that sits on your head, waiting for it to fall off. The straps adjust the size of the cap but do nothing else. I thought I would love this option as I always use mesh for my crochet braids, but I'm sticking with the mesh. Much lighter, you don't feel it, and there's no comb to pull your hair out.
