You get what you get.
This is a good gift but after a year of use I have some concerns. The batteries on mine actually broke so they no longer snap into the controller, but not all of the clips broke so they kind of stay in place. If I move the controller too much, the battery slips out. In addition, they lasted quite a long time and the docking station still works without any problems. I'm pretty sure the battery was user error as I'm rough with my controllers sometimes.
