The other reviews were really helpful. I have nothing to add except that he is so strong! And yes it's a bit bulky but not as bad as I feared, just lay it on the bed, plug it in and sit down. Insert your feet (I keep these pads fitted) and lightly secure the remaining Velcro straps. Maybe I should give him 5 stars, he does what he does very well. I give it a 4 because it's not a shiatsu machine, it takes the edge off but it's not fun. Also, a little something for sensitive people: it fills the room with a plastic smell, especially when the heating function is on. But I'm sure it will fade with use and age.
