They are soft, thick and warm - great quality for kids in winter. However, they are very small and shrink even more in the dryer. Based on the reviews already mentioning this I bought the size 8-12 for my medium height 7 year old. Now they are sitting well, but there is nowhere to grow. I also think that warm winter socks should sit a little higher on the leg. Overall really good quality but should be bigger on the foot and higher on the leg.
