My first NIKON! It was great until the zoom lens got stuck on board a cruise ship en route to Antarctica! I bought a Cannon ELPH on board with 12x optical 48x max zoom. Now I also have a second ELPH as a reserve for my wife. We do not use cell phones for vacation photos. My wife doesn't even have a cell phone! I still use Coolpix, but it was quickly repaired after our trip. On cruises I keep it by the balcony door of our stateroom to take pictures of the sea, sunset, passing ships and sea creatures. It does a good job. To be honest. I had an early pre-Nikon ELPH and the lens was stuck too! While the Nikon delivers better quality, it's difficult to take with me on shore excursions, and I take a lot of one-handed shots outside a tour bus window with a little elf. However, the Nikon L810 is smaller, much lighter and easier to use than my daughter's NIKON DSLR, which she uses for business. I am satisfied with the quality of the photos, suitable for Facebook.
