I have these gloves in Café Noir which is almost black for all practical purposes. The gloves are well made; they are not made of a hundred pieces of leather sewn together. Lots of small pieces of leather sewn together are a sign of poor quality. The leather of these gloves is quite soft and the lining is made of polyester fleece. These gloves are made of GENUINE leather. So these are DRESS gloves. Whether you're planning to climb the North Pole, shovel snow in -30 degrees, or go ice fishing, look for another pair made just for the great outdoors. They keep you warm on short trips to the shops and are very elegant suit gloves. I've been wearing them for a number of years now and haven't had any issues with rips or seams coming undone. I'm sure you could use them to shovel snow or do a lot of other things and they shouldn't fall apart, but I have waterproof, highly insulated gloves that I wear on long outdoor activities. These gloves are also great for driving when you get into a cold car with a cold steering wheel and gear knob. They have some sort of synthetic material on their fingertips, allowing you to manipulate your phone's touchscreen - handy for taking a call when you're out in the cold, or entering an address for your GPS app. I am very happy with these gloves and am confident that they will last at least another ten years.
