I need to print around 20-30 pages a week on a regular basis. When my 7 year old Canon iP2702 started going haywire I bought it as a second printer. This is a good color printer that prints beautiful laser text and great photos even on plain paper. I received more than I expected and am very happy with this purchase. However, I had few problems in the first week. The instructions were poorly organized so I had to use trial and error to figure it out. Also, I was manhandled with constant HP popups telling me I need to buy ink. I also kept being aggressively directed to the HP website without even asking. The solution to this problem is to use a good startup manager so HP can't control your PC whenever it wants. I've never liked HP's overly aggressive tactics. Another small disadvantage is that the ink cartridges run out faster than on my Canon. However, many websites (including Revain) sell a combo set of cartridges (color and black) for around $20 or less. If you look around you can get a good deal. The inks give about 4-6 weeks of moderate printing, which isn't as bad as other printers. Also note that the message that the ink is running out is a flat lie. Just keep printing until your prints are no longer acceptable. Then replace the cartridge and you're back in business. Overall, this is a basic color printer with good to excellent print quality. The fact that the cartridges are not too expensive is another big plus.
