Review on Imus Seal Butyl Joist Tape: Ultimate Waterproofing Solution for Flashing Deck Joists and Beams (1-5/8” x 50’) by Richard Surveh

I used Imus Seal butyl tape to build a boat dock. It feels like pretty hard work. Worked fine for my application. I used masking tape to cover the deck joists and frame. I also used it for the areas of the abutment where the framework connects. Some areas have been specially treated with the polysealant from my putty gun. The weak points of pressure treated lumber are the wood/wood interfaces and attachment points. Imus Tape is easy to apply and perfect for this application. I expect this tape to add several years to the life of my dock. Good investment!
