The goal was to find an alternative for laptop speakers. Chose between SRS-XB23 and Flip5. For comparison, in the store I put two speakers side by side and alternately connected to one or the other, including music of various genres. To be honest, I did not notice a tangible difference (may JBL fans forgive me for such blasphemy). Both firms focus on low frequencies. And in the Extra Bass mode, the Sony JBL speaker at the bottom will not yield. When this mode is turned off (on the speaker itself or in a mobile application, which, of course, is not a fountain, but as it is), the speaker noticeably loses sound quality, however, by playing around in the equalizer, you can achieve quite tolerable sound. Whether basses are turned off in a similar way on JBL, I can’t say. I did not see this option explicitly there (I admit that I did not look well). As for the maximum volume, both speakers will be able to notify others in the area of the next 10 meters about your musical tastes. Do you need more attention? Here, decide for yourself. General conclusion: the choice of a speaker is determined by your musical tastes, so you need to come and listen specifically to your music on a specific speaker. I don't regret my choice, as this column is quite an adequate choice in the indicated price category.
