I first bought a Samsung 970 EVO Plus because I used to have an 860 and I remember Samsung had their own drivers and software which actually updated the firmware to improve performance improve (unlike most other brands. ) - until I decided to do one last search before closing the deal! The Samsung would have cost me $195 after tax but I kept looking and looking at reviews of this drive and I remember SK Hynix had the drives but they weren't listed on the 'other' sites I was looking to buy . EVERY review ranks this drive as near perfect and the fastest PCIE 3.0 drive on most levels, especially in terms of write speeds, and it's unmatched in energy efficiency and low power consumption! The only downside is the PCB color (for some) and a slight drop in readings compared to some, but it's still close to the top. Anyone familiar with the computer industry knows that SK Hynix along with Micron and Samsung are true NAND. and other memory manufacturers who sell or make chips for all these different brands of SSDs and/or RAM, all others don't make memory. This is why this drive is the best in terms of performance as it has its own custom controller which is very fast. In addition, they feature 128-layer NAND memory, which is unique in the industry and offers many advantages. After review after review, I realized that the only drives that outperform these are the most expensive and/or PCIE 4.0 drives that get hot. many and only available on AMD platforms. All reviews admired the low power consumption and efficiency of this M.2 drive to the point where they were shocked and remembered for its exceptionally high efficiency! You couldn't believe it was an era of performance, not to mention a much lower price point than other top drive brands. This is on par with Samsung's best and most expensive drive - Pro and/or Plus. I tried going to their website and it was a very slow website, no real product information, no software or specific drivers. So I wondered how dedicated they were. However, I knew they created a memory and that explains why this disc is so great. Yes, the circuit board might be painted black or yellow instead of the old school green, but I still can't see it after installing it, so I don't really care. I tried to find info about it like TRIM, Drivers or Encryption but it has all wear leveling features but no encryption. The lack of encryption didn't bother me as my Teamgroup SSD (which far outperformed my old Samsung 860) had no encryption, native drivers, or firmware updates. Once installed, it blasted Teamgroup, the old Samsung, and my already fast PC felt like a new PC! Samsung which I have always tested below the advertised speed. The Teamgroup drive tested 3110 reads and 2008 writes, despite the specifications calling for 3300 and 2500. SK tested (with Samsung Magician) 3440 reads and 3241 writes! This is my first drive overclocked to around the advertised speeds! The increased write speed really changes all the features! I wasn't sure about the benefits of faster typing speeds, but once I started reviewing websites and downloading games, playing games, and editing videos - THEN I noticed the benefits! Downloads are now written as fast or even faster than internet bandwidth. Games like GTA V (or anything really) have FULL Rendering, INCREASED Detail, Coloring, Speed, Frames/Fluidity and Overall Performance! With this drive everything is clear! I've experienced ZERO performance hits - only performance gains and CONSISTENT performance throughout my testing! Photoshop loads much faster. Vegas Pro loads faster. Even GTA V loads faster! I have a 32 inch 1440p screen. I'm glad that when I got a Samsung (before I placed that order!) I immediately returned it as I saved about $55 and gotten more power. SK said they would review their website and provide a toolkit (should have had before launch - for such a big company) but I'm HAPPY I made this purchase and I trusted this brand because they really design, MANUFACTURE and DELIVER. memory to other brands, so of course they know they can do more than other brands! I praise it as much as the professional reviewers! The performance and price make this unbeatable from other brands! You get performance (or better) from other brands of TOP (most expensive) drives or better for only $135! Again, SK Hynix makes storage, which is why they can offer such high quality at such a low price! Trust us and get it yourself!
