I have what would be called 4C hair in the natural hair community. I only bought this straightening comb to help me trim my hair after blow drying it NOT to make it look flat. For my hair type this gives a really good blow dry look that I need to cut my hair. If you're looking for a comb to straighten your hair like a straightener, then this is definitely for those with looser curls. The tips of the teeth are not hot to the touch, but the sides of the straightener can burn you. . I had no trouble turning this unit off and the heat settings are perfect enough to prep my hair for a straight cut. I would not recommend using this on wet hair unless you want your hair to break, snap and unravel.
