Review on Focal Celestee: Premium Closed-Back Over-Ear Wired Headphones - Superior Sound Quality and Luxurious Comfort by Carrie Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've never heard anything like it.

I have been working as a musician for a long time. Has been playing professionally for 36 years. As someone who becomes a chef because he loves to eat, I decided to become a musician because I love listening to music. And as you embark on this adventure, you quickly realize that the difference in getting a job or not is in the details. Your attention to detail will help you land that elusive paying job. That was the introduction to this review. And now I'll tell you a secret: 75% of my salary comes from my ears. I play what the music demands because I have references. And now comes the Celestee headphones. I have a Shure se846, probably the best headphones I've ever owned. Great details, great dynamics, great textures. But after the last 4 years of having these earbuds in my head, my ear canal has gotten a bit tired. So I switched to headphones. I had a great pair of Grado SR325e's that were voted best in class by Consumer Report. They're open, which means that when I'm immersed in a great Bach or Leonard Cohen tune, my wife can't sit still and read her book because she's hearing a nasal version of the music from the cans. So I had to close my back. I wanted a Focal Stella. Oh god, my body longed to rest my head on those cognac colored pillows. But too expensive. That's why, after a long search on the internet, I decided on Celestee. When they arrived I didn't know what to expect. Wrong, I'm not expressing myself properly. In fact, I didn't think I could hear all the music in its entirety. All is. The smallest detail can be followed as easily as an elephant's footprint on muddy ground. And without turning the volume up to uncomfortable levels, I must say. At a reasonable volume, what you thought was a synthesizer sound is actually a guitar combined with an accordion. The bass line you were sure was made by the bass, we are a group of bass drums tuned to produce a scale. The bass is not too boomy, not too strong. Since everything is so precise, if you decide to follow the bass you will hear it, you will feel it without any problems. The middle meaning that almost anything to do with the voice is great, you're in these singers' mouths, catching their intonations, their screams, their little intonation, you can almost tell if they've brushed their teeth or not. And the highs, from horns to flutes, violins to synths, can be enjoyed effortlessly, never harsh or harsh. I put everything on and rediscovered the music. I was there when Frank Sinatra took the stage at The Sands. I was delighted when Otto Klemperer conducted Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. I was there when Van Halen recorded their first album. I could hear small accents on the hi-hat, I could hear the cellos leading the orchestra, I could hear Sinatra puff on his cigarette. I almost coughed. I realized that I had never heard music before. All I needed was a Pioneer XDP-300r and Celestee headphones connected to a balanced 2.5mm jack. Yes, this gear costs about $1,800. But that would be the equivalent of a hi-fi system for around $60,000, let's be modest. Buy the Celestee, my friends! You will not regret it. The music deserves to be appreciated at this level of clarity and warmth. After all, that's what the artist who made the recordings wanted to hear.
