I have been a longtime user of Royal Canin brand for our Yorkie. Having had several aging pets, I know that their dietary needs change as they get older. Typically, these changes begin around age 8, but it's not an exact science.Royal Canin has adjusted the ingredients to be easier on the again pups digestive system and other internal organs.Although we do have a Yorkie, I would think this would be fine for any small breed dog. The dog seems to really like it and actually has a small handful right before she goes to bed. Amazing that the dog wants a light snack before bed.The only "Con" to the product is that it is pricey for the quantity, but I like the ingredients so it's a win-win for us.
