Generous kit, beware of the carbon brush

Fairly complete kit. However, my first experience was very bad! I tried a carbon fiber brush on a vinyl record that landed on my turntable. Favorite Gil Scott Heron record. I didn't press at all or very little, and it immediately ripped my record to pieces. The scratches don't seem to be audible, but they are very noticeable and bother me. I think I could hold the brush at an angle (it seemed intuitively safer as the bristles were quite stiff). All instructions should include warnings to this effect. I resisted the urge to toss it in the bin and tried again with a cheap vinyl record making sure I held it upright and it seemed to work fine. Another minus is the size of the velvet brush. For those used to big velvet tassels, it felt like a step down. It's bigger than a small harmonica. It probably doesn't matter in the long run, but it was disappointing at first. Not as luxurious feeling as I would like. I was impressed with the amount of liquid you get. Also, I've never used a stylus gel before and was amazed at how well it works. The microfiber cloth is good but small. Other companies have sent microfiber towels that feel more or less like cotton bath towels. Basically a good kit. Too bad I had to sacrifice a good shot to learn how to use it. I would still do without a more valuable plate with a carbon fiber brush. All other components are very functional. (Except for gloves, which I don't use).
