I needed this to replace a GFI that had previously been installed poorly. The person who installed it simply pushed the wires into the box and tightened the screws. This extension allowed me to install the GFI without damaging the wires. My only complaint and the reason for the 4 star rating is that the plastic is a little flimsy in the area where the screws need to be inserted to secure the socket and no screw was included on this one. So be very careful when choosing the right calibration screws. I had a tear in one place. I don't think that's enough (I don't think so) to force GFI to fail. This is a very attractive and simple fixture that eliminates the need to completely replace the electrical box with a deep box.
