I don't know if the wand actually does anything, but it looks like it. I use it after running when my legs hurt and it really helps. It seems like you can overdo the stick if you put too much muscle in it, but when I apply medium pressure it seems to weaken my muscles and make them feel better/recover faster. I like the stick, I recommend it to everyone. I've tried several and prefer the larger diameter sticks, as does my wife. Also, we don't find longer sticks useful as we don't often use the stick on our back or other places where a longer stick is needed. I would recommend one of the shorter, larger diameter poles for runners.
