Suitable for permanent markers. An oil base is what you need for permanent rock painting. I've tried everything and wasn't aware that normal permanent markers and acrylic paints can't withstand the sun, wind, rain and elements like oil paints. I spray my stones with white oil first to give a smooth finish before painting them, paint at will. It helps a lot. I see others painting, painting directly onto the stones without preparing them with a good background color, neither do they show the purity of the lines, the detail or the brightness of the color. It will also prevent the parts from bleeding or coming loose if you prep them first. I've also used them on rubber so they don't work with a lot of media. I love her! I'm going to try them on bamboo sticks and other things with pretty round dots used in Australian Aboriginal art. Very cool!
