This is a really decent little desktop tripod that I use with a webcam and small digital camera. I've tried using it with a large DSLR and it works, but care must be taken as it can tip over with something that big. It's all metal (except for the rubber feet and a small handle with a locking pin) and is pretty solid. It folds down to 4 inches which I can easily toss in my camera bag or put in my pocket. It is stable and measures 6Β½ inches tall with legs fully extended and 4Β½ inches tall with legs tucked in. locking mechanism and relies on friction to stay extended, but the tilt head has a lock. While I've never had issues with friction-locked legs becoming unbalanced or sliding into the closed position, I wouldn't install anything on it - or heavy. The mounting screw is a ΒΌ" standard so it will definitely fit any camera with a tripod thread. WARNING: It is best used in a fixed position as there is no lever to tilt and pan. You will need to physically move and adjust your Camera on a tripod head. This isn't good if you need to capture a moving subject with your webcam. Since the maximum height is 6Β½", it's not at eye level when using the webcam unless you put it on one Stacks of books Overall this is a nice and handy table tripod that has helped me get some pretty good photos and trains.
