I recommend Roku and AppleTV as the best set-top boxes for streaming content. This Roku is easy to set up and has a pretty basic user interface. Roku is missing recommended content for all providers you subscribe to. AppleTV has a cleaner interface and offers a summary of content recommendations for all your streaming subscriptions. The Roku remote is easier to use than the AppleTV remote. If you're not investing heavily in Apple's extended ecosystem, go with Roku.
