I am a student who has various tablets and a laptop for school use. This tablet has been at the top of my list for a long time. Every time this tablet went on sale, a part of me wanted to order it. Samsung tablets were the top selling tablets for what I wanted and compared to other tablets the price was reasonable. It's time to stop draining my phone's battery (reading books) and fight my sluggish Kindle Fire. The tablet comes with little malware compared to some tablets from other manufacturers. Most of them can be disabled or removed. The device is responsive and can be easily adjusted to make the transition animation even smoother. Compared to other tablets I've had, the battery life is excellent. My Kindle Fire doesn't have that kind of battery life. I spent about three hours reading and surfing the web only to find that I was using about 25% of my battery. There are many settings you can change to conserve battery life. When I read a book on my phone, the battery drains to about 75% after an hour and a half (sometimes less if I unplug a few things). There is a distinct difference between them. The only downside to a tablet, as others have pointed out, is space limitations. I have room for books and a few handy apps, but that's about it. Even with an SD card, I'm limited in what I can install on the device. And as I found on my phone, any apps that update in the Play Store are moved back to the internal storage from your SD card. It's an aggravation, but something that happens on a lot of Android devices. Even though you can move some apps to the SD card, things like books from Google Play Store don't seem to be stored on the SD card. The app can be moved, but not the books (please correct me if I'm wrong, turns out they weren't moved, just the app). My books take up very little space! If you need more space, I would go for more expensive Samsung tablets. So far I am very impressed with their tablets and will be looking at their models for future purchases. Sometimes I leave it in sleep mode and forget about it until I turn it on a few days later. I once left it in sleep mode for a week and found that the tablet was still charging over 70%. None of my previous tablets could do that. This is still my number one tablet. My phone drains faster than this tablet!
