Review on πŸ’Ύ Superior Dual Bay RAID USB-C External Drive Enclosure: Introducing MiniPro RAID V3 by Rory Stice

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a 2.5 " two bay case!

I looked at several models and settled on this one. It works perfectly. Note the following: - I've had it for over an hour now it's running, transferring files, and it's cool enough that I can hold it in my hands without discomfort. It's slightly warm to the touch and has NO fan.Two discs rotate inside,2 standard hard drive spinners. The rear connector uses the Standard USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 cable unlike other models Two cables included One cable - USB-C - USB-C to USB 3.1 Gen 2. The other cable is USB-C to USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1. So you can use it in USB 3.0 or 3.1/USB-C configurations. You can power it from your computer via Thunderbolt 3 or use the AC adapter. There is a switch on the back.- They will send you a silver box. Judging by the photos on the site, there are two boxes. This box holds 2 discs up to a size of 15 mm. Unlike other designs, it takes 15mm discs. So right now, the 2.5-inch 15mm 5TB drive has the largest capacity. This will contain two of them. The only problem is that the documentation on the website is not that good. There are two small switches on the back of the machine and pictures showing what these switches do. Here is the guide to setting up the box. Connect the box with the discs inside to your computer and turn it on. On Windows 10, type computer management in the Cortana box. For multiple drives, install one switch up and one switch down. Then take a screwdriver and press and hold the "Set" button on the back. The computer will beep and then you will see a large hard drive in the computer management menu. Perform a quick format of this drive and you're done. I used NTFS with compression to maximize disk space. I haven't tried creating a RAID 0 or RAID 1 volume, but I suspect I'll need to adjust the switches and hold down the set button. Now, if you go to their website or look up how to span your hard drive in Windows 10, you won't get any useful information. It took me about an hour to figure this out and using the procedures I found on google didn't help and kept throwing error messages. Just remember to set the switches and hold down the install button while managing the computer and the drives are powered on.
