I was a first time mom (my husband's second child) and I was very nervous about the temperature of the bath water and how everything was ok. This thermometer is pretty much perfect and takes all the guesswork out of it. It floats in the water and alerts you when the water is too hot. My husband first made fun of me for getting this (his rationale was that it was easy enough to test the water on your wrist or elbow). But after I used it for the first time, he was also very happy with it. There are different versions of this concept. I chose this one because the temp gauge is on top (not under the duck). It's much easier, allowing you to tell if the bath water is cold by simply looking at the thermometer instead of constantly turning it upside down.
