This was a gift for my lovely bride. At first she was confused by what it was and why I would possibly consider giving her a toy hamster for Christmas. Once we switched it on and it started repeating everything she said in its hamster voice, the laughter began and was then repeated by the hamster. Pants were very nearly peed on that Christmas morning. The hamster was passed around to everybody and again at the following holiday gatherings. Everybody was enjoying it even when the hamster repeated those naughty words and phrases.The only downside I've witnessed is that the novelty eventually wears off. It isn't like a more practical gift like snow boots or a cast iron skillet that might be used over and over for years. Yes, even though the hamster brings intense laughter, its shelf allure is limited.
