I received an adjustable bed that is not against the wall so I needed a small side table to use at night can remote control it, my phone etc. It's the perfect size and shape to use in front of my dresser that stays back-to-wall. One downside is that it sits on the base with a magnet, so it can get lost on impact. But perfect for what I use it for. And good that you can remove the tray and put it on a chest of drawers or a bed. Another downside is that since it's metal, it makes a little noise when I put certain things on it. But any metal table will do. I just use a small stand or mat to muffle the sound.
