Review on THINKWORK Lug Nut Remover Extractor Tool Set - 5-Piece Metric Bolt & Lug Nut Extractor Socket Tools by Chad Mills

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lugnat was undressed.

Went to have rear brake pads and discs done on an Infiniti G35 because someone had worn them to the bottom, of course as always things do go wrong. In this case, Costco only overtightened the nuts on ONE wheel. All other nuts on every other wheel were easy to loosen with a jumper. I put the pipe on a 25" jumper to make it even longer, on the last wheel all the nuts came loose except for one. Has a nut broken off? Deformed. The nut's outer cap twisted while removing the nut itself stayed in place. Hemmed and cut, should I set it on fire and risk damaging the clear coat on the wheel? Should he go to a tire shop to look at it? Ordered this kit, installed it, hammered it in with a heavy hammer, put a breaker with a pipe on it and it worked, worth every penny. These nuts literally bite into the nut, the downside is they usually deform it into an unusable shape (so expect it to be replaced), the upside is the bite provides a lot more grip than a regular nut. If you've overtightened a nut, regular sockets will lose grip before they reach the torque needed to loosen them, but these don't.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Good but not great
