Changing computers I pulled on my cable at the DisplayPort end. It wouldn't move so I pulled harder. End result: I tore the cable out pf the connector. Needed pliers to get the connector out of the video card. Cable ruined, so I ordered from this company. At the DisplayPort end of the cable (see picture) is a yellow warning tag saying push hard on the "release tab" when removing the cable,The makers of this cable spent a few pennies more to add this warning tag Surprisingly this safer cable cost less than the first cable from another company, which had no warning. So better cable for less money!
