Review on πŸ’Ž DMT 6-Inch Diamond Whetstone W6EFC: Enhanced SEO-Friendly Product by James Lighting

Good for edging but not smoothing

Stones are perfectly straight, in most cases they have no sharp bumps or defects. The "stones" consist of a hard plastic body with a thin metal plate on top that holds the diamond particles. Feels solid and/but (depending on what you are looking for) light. The box is very beautiful. Comes with anti-slip rubber pads. It's very useful for holding the bricks, but not that handy when used in a box as the CNC isn't smooth under the bricks and they wobble in all directions (a brick holder would be more useful), but it is still useful requires caution. The stones themselves grind the edge very well, especially with a few drops of water to hold the particles. While that's probably its primary purpose, don't expect the end result (according to GrΓΌnstein) to be smooth and mirror-like. It will be ridged and will require a final sharpening with sandpaper followed by sanding [see fig 2 annotated images]. In general I am very satisfied with the product. Giving my cheap Bahco plane the primary and secondary bevels was a very quick job and after sanding/dry sanding and tape the blade was perfectly straight and extremely sharp. I'm not sure how the blue/red/green maps to 325/600/1200 grit as the green stone (1200 I suspect) leaves marks that even 240 grit sandpaper won't leave.
