UPDATE: We used this bath pillow for our first baby and loved it! We left him as soon as she sat down. When I was about to give birth to my second child, this was one of my must-haves! We bought this bath pillow again and it was excellent too. It's as soft as any other foam and is perfect for a 5 month old newborn to lay down. I love that it's smaller than a carrycot but offers the same comfort and safety. In my opinion this is way better than a baby bath! I highly recommend this item! We've been using it on our baby since he was newborn. It works great for swimming. We just put it in the sink or tub, fill the tub or sink with water about 2 inches, make sure to get it wet, and set it on top. I totally disagree with the comments saying this thing is spikey or skinny (maybe they have duds?). I think it's perfect and does its job very well.
