I've bought and used a lot of different journals of this type. This JoyNote journal offers good quality (good paper, strong cover) at a good price. It also has three really convenient features that bump it up to five star territory: 1) Two ribbon placeholders, rather than the one common on most journals (this is surprisingly handy); 2) elastic pen holder along the spine (holds a Bic 4-color pen, although you have to open the notebook covers a bit to loosen the elastic enough to slip in larger pens like the 4-color Bic); and 3) it stays open surprisingly well for a stitched binding (spiral bindings are best for opening flat, but come with other disadvantages). Overall, very nice journal at a good price.
