Absorbent car mats are great for pet accidents!
We have an older cat who doesn't always use the litter box. We've walked miles with paper towels trying to save our soil. Our auto mechanic suggested PIG floor mats and they were fantastic! When the cat missed the crate we just laid the mat down and it not only absorbed the liquid but also a significant portion of the smell.
