I wasn't planning on washing this rug right away but after 48 hours with 3 boxes of water on it and the heavy creases still not gone I was tired of waiting. A quick wash and dry should do the trick. puppy, yes and then some. You can say goodbye to both wrinkles and that flawless binding! It turned out to be chaos. Completely unacceptable. At first I also doubted whether I should leave it. If you want to place this in front of a door, check the spacing. It's about 1/4 inch at its thinnest point. And it grows in the washer and dryer! It's very swollen now. But what really gets in the way of its ability to be a "low clearance" front doormat is the pile. It's plush, quilted, with no loops. It's terrible when something slips over it. I was about to go to another neighborhood before the laundry incident. Nice, but I cannot recommend this rug for the reasons stated.
