I ordered up per other reviews 1/2 size and was smart to do so. Faux shearling on the leg of the boot but the foot area is matted down from interior packaging. I went inside with my fingers and roughed it back up to help with warmth. I have thick legs so the opening of the leg area is good, can't tighten down the boot but also it is not loose for me. They are comfortable to walk in more so than I first thought, and although I have not shoveled snow in them yet, with heavy socks they seem to do the trick, thus the 1/2 size up for said thick socks. I do like the tread, but would still be careful on icy surfaces. *** My original post was a 3 star and much more negative of the boot, but the post office carrier really beat them up forcing them into my mailbox. I was contacted within an hour by the seller and offered a remedy of replacement, refund or discount. I replied that I was good with what I had, knowing I had not actually worn them out yet. To my surprise 3 days later - I received a spanking new pair even though I told them not too. So thank you LedaWen Mao Yi for doing so, it was not necessary but I will remember your kind deed. Thank you.
