Have now bought 5 of them. My baby was born prematurely and her doctor recommended a humidifier. This jewel is perfect and we keep it in your child's room 24/7. I fill it daily and wash it with hot vinegar water once a week (sometimes twice). I've found soaking the tank and top to be the best method, then scrubbing and rinsing with hot water. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. *The only downside is that the tank valve needs to be properly aligned to avoid breaking it, screw it in neatly and I don't close it tight just to be careful. Parts of this type are "brittle" plastic, so care must be taken. Super quiet when working! It was such a good help when she had RSV we gave her to all her cousins for Christmas. I'm currently replacing the humidifier in our room which sounds like a train compared to this one. Definitely not just for kids!
