Bought this for my son to replace a dying microphone. He loves it for its absorbing abilities and weight. His old mic was too heavy to use a mic boom. This one was pretty easy. It comes with a short stand for desktop or desktop use. The stand is easily detachable so you can use other types of stands. Unfortunately, his computer didn't recognize this plug-n-play microphone. Nothing needs to be downloaded for it to work. I decided to replace his supplied USB cable with another one and it worked! This is an old computer so this may have contributed to it not being ready to use out of the box. It worked on new laptops and computers in my house. There is RGB lighting that can be useful for gamers. This distracted my son. We ended up covering all the gauges with black tape because it's on all the time to mute the sound and direction. The mute button is an important feature. You don't have to turn off the microphone or fiddle with your computer. All controls are on the microphone itself. My son uses his microphone for gaming and zooming at school. He used it to record school projects and found it made his work admirable. He's picky, so that says a lot. And he spends a lot of time researching his electronics. We've had this mic for a long time and it still works. He uses it 12 to 16 hours a day, every day.
