Review on BLACK DECKER HLWVA325J21 Lithium Titanium Vacuum Cleaner by Laura Thomas

After the awful experience we had with the Dirt Devil contest - https://www.amazon.com/review/ R1OMA3Z02ZNN7E/ref= cm_cr_rdp_perm - we decided to go further and pay extra for this Black + Decker model. This time I did research. If I need to make a warranty claim, I can do so manually by taking it to a service center, one of which is located here in Austin, Texas. Brand new, this vacuum works reasonably well, but so does the Dirt Devil, so let's see how the battery lasts. We use a handheld vacuum to clean up behind ourselves after we've cleaned up behind our pets, so it should be able to handle cat litter and hamster scraps, including popcorn kernels. This one does the job very well, although not as well as the much cheaper Dirt Devil when it was new, for reasons explained below. However, Dirt Devil dumped less than a year after purchase as they wanted me to pay to ship the $18 vacuum to them when it died to claim what they called the warranty. Tiny mouth and little ability to contain that thing. All of the manufacturer's pictures hide this really well, which is why I've included pictures with a US quarter for reference. Price wise, the capacity and mouth size are a bit ridiculous, but there seems to be an odd lack of competition, so I think it's about as good as it is right now. I could live with that capacity if they were selling a cheap wide mouth addon or something. If there is such a thing, it doesn't appear to be linked to the device webpage or anywhere else on Revain. On the plus side, at least the exhaust port doesn't come out the arm like some models I've read about. and the vacuum itself is fairly light, although I'm not sure I wouldn't have gone for a heavier machine if it meant I could get the job done faster because it had reasonable consumption and power.
