Review on 🎨 Revitalize Your Fabrics with Jacquard iDye Natural Fiber Fabric Dye in True Red by Morgan Gilmore

Works great - follow the instructions!

Well I can't fault this color. I followed the instructions and restarted the washing machine after about 5 minutes. Then they forgot to set the timer and it all washed away. This gave the dye about 15 minutes to shake and soak. I used two packs of 9' x 12' painting cloth, a very heavy burlap cloth. It was white, almost cream, but I think it was the natural color of the material. I washed the napkin first and then applied the paint. The fabric also looks red, a nice bright red. RIT DYE: You don't want to use this to dye natural fabrics like cotton. Rit dye is a general purpose dye that does not work well on cotton and will fade when washed or exposed to sunlight. However, if you're dyeing something that doesn't see much light and doesn't get washed often, the color will be "ok". Aside from being an all-purpose dye and not exclusive to natural fabrics, the main disadvantage of Rit dye is that it won't produce a dark enough color unless you use twice the recommended amount. If you're dyeing cotton or other natural fabrics, jacquard dye is the way to go, and make sure it's for natural fabrics as they offer a "poly" type for synthetics. They also offer two other types of dyes, but they are much more difficult to apply. So if you want simplicity, use the "iDye" type. Fill the washing machine with hot water (as hot as possible). I turned off the cold flow to fill the washing machine first. Throw the bags into the water. They dissolve. Mix well. Add a cup of salt and stir. Add fabric and let the washer stir. The longer you let it stir/absorb, the darker the color will become. Shoot for about 30 minutes. If you don't want to screw it up like I did, leave the top of the washer open (can't be done with a front loader) so it stops before it goes any further than churn. Drop and let go.
