Linx works great with the Ooma base. I was impressed with how fast it ran and how it could program itself from the base unit. The Linx device plugs into a wall outlet and a standard phone cord plugs into the bottom of the device, allowing you to connect your phone or other device. ADVANTAGES: - A Linx device is fairly quick to program - With basic services, a Linx device can be used to provide phone line extension in an area where there is no telephone jack - A Linx device with premium service can be used, to allow you 2 different phone numbers (one for line 1, another phone number for line 2) - the premium service allowed me to use the Linx device as my line 2 while the base provided the phone connection for line 1. The Ooma customer service technician was very helpful and quickly connected my Linx to my second phone number. CONS: - I wasn't able to program the Linx myself to only answer calls made on the 2nd phone number. Tech support was able to do this in 1 minute by creating a separate account for the Linx module.
