I don't usually write reviews but I have some time and I hope my review will help someone decide if the Corsair Virtuoso is a good choice for their application. BTW I have the Premium, NOT the Special Edition/SE version. (More on why I chose this below and it wasn't a $30 price difference) SOLID build quality. There's a certain satisfaction in how they feel. Strong, doesn't creak or bend, which shouldn't be. Good weight, not too heavy. I'm sure the SE version is very good with machined aluminum too. The protein leather headband and pads are comfortable and I'm sure many people will be comfortable for hours on end. (It would be nice if they included some options at this price point. Maybe perforated lambskin or suede or fabric weave etc. Changing the sound profile is half the fun of a good set of cans.) Crazy soundproofing. Put them on your head and you probably won't be able to hear much around you. Depending on your preferences, this can be great, it's the shape and form of VERY closed-back headphones in every way. I have a feeling most people are right-handed, so the fact that the volume is on the right is a little annoying. The right hand is the main mouse hand and should not be used for volume control. Wireless audio is adequate, very clear for the most part. As you'll see I've also attached a picture of my EQ settings as I personally like the V-curve with its bass/treble boosted and mids cut slightly. With the "Pure Direct" flat EQ, they sound pretty dull in my opinion, not just for gaming, but for music and general use. I'm not sure how this will work for console users who can't easily set up sound profiles. The quality of the microphone is excellent! I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but the premium mic is way better than the special edition. This is a good argument if you want to accurately reproduce your voice for others. Everything is fine with the software. iCUE has a very limited range of options for this set of cans and only a few preset EQ settings that I personally would never use. That's not to say that Logitech's software or other people's software is any better, but it really isn't very good. Sometimes the biggest problem is clarity. Even with the default "Pure Direct" EQ settings or my modified EQ settings, there are occasional pops/pops/distortions with some games/music, which is very annoying. Yes, I may have received a broken pair of cans, but I can't hear the distorted audio. The second biggest problem from my point of view. The pads are a bit small for me personally and my ears touch the inside near the rider. As per my attached picture, I WISH the pad rolling was easier. These pads have a ring/twist attachment system (clockwise to unlock which exposes the bass backwards) and you will need to destroy the original pads to remove the rings to properly install a new set (or you can use a get a self-adhesive set). the uh, or even print some new rings on a 3D printer, but that's too much hassle to just change the pads. There was a long review that doesn't tell much, but in short I'll be sending it back and continuing to use my Logitech G935 (with the shearling headband and shearling corner pads replaced). Even in stock I'd say they're much better in terms of cost/performance/configuration/etc.
