When I unpacked everything I tried to open the remote to put in a battery, but today's tiny cheap remotes with cramped battery compartments are ridiculous impossible to open. In my attempts to open the battery cover, the plastic piece broke, and even after creating a gap that I hoped would help me open the cover, I still couldn't move it. So I have a completely useless remote control. Good thing I don't intend to use this DVD player often. Of course, if I used it often, I wouldn't buy it as cheaply as this one. So yes. I had my doubts and fully understand that you get what you pay for, but I wasn't expecting the inability to fully open the remote's battery compartment. Oh, and take a look at the photos of this product and look closely at the picture of the remote control. And now I'm asking you: does anyone need so many little buttons on a remote control for a DVD player? Open/close, play/pause, rewind, fast forward, stop. That's all everyone needs. That cheap (and now broken) remote control with a million tiny buttons is just plain ridiculous.
