Just boring cheap good tools.

Warning: too cheap to appeal to serious chefs. Please consider hiding it under a cupboard if you are serious about cooking. You can leave your $230 stainless steel model on display, but you'll likely use this one. However, for the rest of us, it works great with hard veggies (potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, large mushrooms, zucchini). While the tomatoes are being mashed; Use your sharp knife instead. The protection works best on objects whose diameter is greater than their height; half an onion for example. Peel off the outer skin, cut off the ends and go after it. And voila - perfect hamburger slices. Purchase and use Epica cut-resistant gloves and wear them conscientiously; Your fingertips will thank you. You'll be surprised how quickly a yellow squash grows too short to safely cut with your bare hands. The angled design allows the discs to be folded quickly; Perhaps a right diameter bowl with a square bottom rim would be good for catching cut pieces - my bowls aren't stable with a mandolin on top. The thickness control works very well. I haven't tried crinkle blades yet. Rinsed clean - made entirely of plastic with stainless steel blades. This tool will be enough for a layman (me) for a long time. Good to recommend. Just don't let serious cooks know you're using it.

Pros
  • Create uniform and even slices to give dishes a beautiful presentation at gatherings, holidays, lunches or family dinners. Blades of different sizes and shapes allow you different ways of slicing, dicing and shredding. Grate carrots, julienne potatoes, shred cabbage and slice apples with one tool!
Cons
  • Seniors
