I have a few different sets of lights and they suit me. The string of lights looks great at night and I love the distance it provides. The solar panel charges enough for the lights and appears to be working well. The string of lights itself has a coating that makes it easy to put on so it doesn't get snagged or tangled. The only downside, at least with my purchased unit, is that the remote doesn't work until you're close. It kind of makes it useless. I don't know if there is a side the remote needs to be pointed at to make it work better (no instructions or comments on this from the seller/manufacturer). My method of installation is, like many people, with the solar panel facing away from the wall of the grow area next to the trees or whatever, unfortunately with the back only facing the wall and that might make it difficult to use the remote control. I don't know, but in any case, if I have to go to the solar panel to turn it on with the remote control, then the remote control system is not good.
