I bought them by mistake. I thought I had ordered LED taillights but when they arrived I found that they were old fashioned. I was desperate for new headlights so I didn't send them back as the other reviews were so good. I wish I had. They went fast and they looked a lot better than the old ones. I didn't change the wiring as it wasn't bad, so I can't comment on the length. They only give you two connections and I don't really like the style used so I used blue crimp connections and sealed them with silicone. The next time, the woman reported that the brake lights weren't working. There are no instructions for changing the bulbs, but you pry off the bottom cover from the center and then the rusty Phillips screw holding the mounting assembly. You will have to remove the assembly to change the bulb unless you have very small hands. The lights under the bulbs are completely rusted. I cleaned the bulb and socket with fine sandpaper, reassembled them and they are working again. I'm going to leave the bottom lid open so it drains faster and I can also pour some water into the assembly to rinse out the salt. It may be until the end of boating season, but next time I'll go with LEDs. Don't waste money.
