I bought two of these which for the claimed surge protection and USB functionality are a fantastic deal at ten bucks each. Overall, with the exception of the toggle switch, it looks well put together and well packaged. Possible downsides that I immediately noticed are that the toggle switch on both feels loose and kind of soft and doesn't inspire confidence that it will last for years if you turn it off daily. When on, there are 3 active status LEDs: white for power, green for ground, and reddish-orange for surge protection. The base of the line filter output plate is made of transparent plastic with a crackle pattern applied with white paint. You can see through the base where the paint is missing so it's an unusual form of plastic although the plastic is very thick and heavy so hopefully it won't become brittle and break easily. The time will show. Two annoying things about this item: it's difficult to insert the plug into an outlet, more so than any other outlet I have, and I wish there was a version with a longer cord, say 3 meters (8- 10 foot). ). From the end of the fork to the extreme end of the exit strip, my total length was 5ft 8in. For ten bucks it's easy to recommend. Update: I noticed that about a week after purchasing my case, the picture has changed to a solid white plastic case instead of clear plastic with white cracked paint, and they no longer mention the unique look. , so it's not the same product I bought for ten dollars and the price is now $25.99. Considering the color of the plastic case is the only thing that appears different, I'm not sure how much the higher original price is justified for something with a cable that's only five feet long.
