I have 4 of these 2L reservoirs. (.and 2 of the 3L versions that come in the Trek Kits that I purchased on Massdrop.)I purchased 4 of these because I have 2 Husky-Shepard dogs, each with their own backpacking-packs. Both are 55-60lbs, high energy, and we regularly hit Red River Gorge for a few days at a time for a lot of hiking and camping. These bags fit into their packs on both sides, and the attached loops allow me to secure them to the inside of their packs. This keeps the water against their bodies, and the reservoir is soft/flexible so it contours their bodies. It also keeps them fairly cool. (They each carry their own gear, at around 10-11lbs total -- veterinarian sanctioned.) Their packs (Hurtta Trail Packs) have webbing on the inside, as well as a foam padding that assist with hanging and comfort. Since I have the Trek Kits by Hydrapak, I also have their plug and play caps, and the silicone spray valve, so I can hot swap them for various tasks. This thing is awesome for dogs, or shooting my lady when she's whining about elevation or boulders. I originally was using normal Hydrapak water bladders before I purchased these for the same reason. If you care about the plastic or metallic taste, these have it. as well as every other bladder I have purchased, ever, from multiple companies -- nothing new here, so not certain why people knock stars off for that. I think these work great for my intended use with the dogs. YMMV!
