This fan is designed for an enclosed porch and replaces the one we have had for over 20 years. The advantage is the use of dimmable LED bulbs that work well. We installed it professionally and it works fine. It does, however, make a constant buzz, and after a short time, a repetitive, light, subtle but annoying "click" sound, like something hitting the body. Although there is nothing. Since we paid more for the installation than for a fan, I'll live with it for now. I don't know if I can live with this noise for long, but I'll see how this summer turns out. I am extremely disappointed. The fan looks great. I just don't think it should make all the noise it makes. As others have pointed out, this is not held in place by the traditional three screws, but turned by threads. Apparently he broke free from all the bumps and fell down. I can't find a replacement. Despite all the useful life, I have never regretted the purchase. Though considered quiet, it always had a low hum that got worse the faster it went. I didn't like this fan at all. It needs to be replaced as I don't have another globe. I will be buying one from my local Home Depot where I can return it if it has problems. I would advise against buying it.
