This case is big enough for my 4Runner. Even with the basket on it, the suitcase seemed to fit just fine. The underside of the lid is soft, which I don't think will scratch the paintwork. There are reflective strips on the corners of the trunk so other cars can see my parked 4runner in the dark. There are zip ties on each wheel and a latch that goes under the cab to prevent high winds tearing it off your car when you need it most. The material is not very thick. So if I'm expecting a lot of hail, I'll put some padding like pool noodles or whatever between the cap and my hood. The weight was light enough that I was able to install it on my 4Runner by myself without help. The case comes with a storage bag to keep dust and debris out. It also came with a small cable lock which I doubt I'll ever use. Once or twice a year I need it for those pesky spring hails in Texas, it will get the job done.
